The "In" Crowd

It is very easy for us to be taken with the notion that we should pursue friendships/relationships with people of influence, power, money, and/or fame, regardless of the condition of their spirit. Now, what might I mean by spirit here? When I say spirit, I'm talking about a person's character, particularly their humility, or lack thereof.

I have been reading Proverbs of late, and this morning came to ch. 16, v. 19:

"It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud."

Now, I know what I think about this verse, but I am interested in any comments anyone has to share here; tell me what you think! When you read this, what does this seem to say to you? Is it true? I'm anxious to hear from anyone with a thought!

My Blog's Name

Hey all! This is not my first attempt at blogging, but it is my first attempt in a long time. I'll begin with a simple explanation of the name of my blog, though it is entirely possible that it will change.

Very simply, my blog's name is in Koine Greek (actually, it's in English that has been transliterated from Koine Greek), and it means "In Pursuit of Truth." It is quite possible that I've transliterated this incorrectly, but I'll leave it for now.

My purpose for this blog is to post difficult questions, and to discuss there answers, or even the mysteries they posit. I hope that any reader will find here issues that they themselves have struggled with, particularly in regards to the big questions of life: why are we here, why is there something rather than nothing, does God exist, why does evil exist, etc.

So, please, if there is anything at all that you would like to say, post it here. I look forward to many interesting and enlightening discussions.
